ASA Contracting brought the project to life, creating a seamless outdoor extension of the home with a custom pergola, entertainment wall, integrated lighting, and a stunning natural stone patio featuring Blue Ice Thermal sandstone from Aura Natural Landscapes.
The result is a warm, inviting space that feels equally suited for everyday relaxation and entertainment, while showcasing just how beautiful natural stone can be in a modern outdoor setting.

BLUE ICE THERMAL
Blue Ice Thermal by Aura Natural Landscapes is a sandstone paver with a cool blue-gray color palette reminiscent of native Pennsylvania bluestone, finished with a thermal treatment for a smooth, contemporary surface. It’s prized for its hardness, density, and consistency, qualities that make it as durable as it is good-looking, holding its appearance under everyday wear over time.
This project started with a phone call from a local architect who presented me with a small patio design and insisted on using natural stone. One thing led to another, and after a 30-minute conversation about the project, we scheduled a site visit and were off and running.ic aesthetic, which made this project a bit of a departure from my typical work and a really enjoyable one at that…
…From the beginning, the direction was clear and concise: the patio needed to be natural stone, there needed to be a structure, and the overall design needed to feel clean and sleek while still fitting within the character and history of Yardley, Bucks County.
With all of that in mind, Blue Ice Thermal was a no-brainer…
…Although Blue Ice is a sandstone rather than the native Pennsylvania bluestone you might traditionally expect to see in this region, it offered the look we were after. Its blue-gray color palette gave us the connection to the regional stone aesthetic, while the thermal finish provided the clean, contemporary appearance the homeowners and architect wanted...
…Beyond the aesthetics, the hardness, density, and overall consistency of the stone were important factors for us as the contractor. We wanted a natural stone that would not only look great when installed but would continue to perform and maintain its appearance over time. Once the homeowners were able to see and feel a sample in person, the decision was easy...
